Résumé : |
The current paper aims to investigate how the use of the role play in oral expression can
enhance the students‟ speaking skill. This study proposes role play as an ideal technique in the
teaching-learning process The present study aims is to investigate the teachers‟ and the
learners‟ views about the use of the role play in oral expression sessions, and how can these
activities raise learners motivation and encourage them to speak fluently. It is hypothesized
that when the oral expression teachers used the role play and drama, learners would be highly
motivated and their speaking ability would develop. To achieve these aims and to test the
validity of the hypothesis, a quantitative research method is adopted. To collect data, two
questionnaires are used. The first questionnaire has been administered to ninety (90) first year
LMD students at the department of English, Mentouri Brothers University, Constantine1. The
second questionnaire has been submitted to nine (9) teachers of oral expression in the same
department. Yet, the two questionnaires have been administered to the participants online
because the pandemic COVID 19. Therefore, this research paper has confirmed the
effectiveness of role play as a useful technique during the oral expression session, and it has a
positive function to motivate students to speak |
