oral performance at the department of foreign language branch of English studies at Mentouri
University of Constantine. It is hypothesized that If the affective, language and pedagogical
obstacles are minimized, students‟ speaking performance will likely to improve .To conduct this
study, we have used a quantitative descriptive research based on one suitable tool: two
questionnaires. The first one is directed to 30 first year LMD students from a population of 350, to
determine their perception of the factors that impede their oral performance. The second
questionnaire is administered to 10 teachers of oral expression at the department of English in
Mentouti University of Constantine in order to explore the strategies used by teachers to overcome
these problems. Based on the results of both questionnaires, students of English are found to face
many obstacles in their speaking performance. Among these obstacles, anxiety, lack of selfconfidence and grammatical mistakes are the serious ones. To add, students need a positive
classroom atmosphere to overcome these obstacles and be fluent speakersDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=15835 Analyzing the Emotional and Linguistic Factors that Make Students of English Uncomfortable in speaking performance Case Study: First Year LMD Students of English At‟‟ Mentouri Brother „‟University , Constantine-1 [texte imprimé] / khaoula Sellami, Auteur ; Azeddine Boulfelfel, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2021 . - 92 f. ; 30 cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Communication Apprehension Second Language. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Speaking anxiety of foreign language is one of the most common obstacles
students face in learning English as a foreign language. Many students suffer from
fear of speaking in front of their classmates in the oral expression class, and this is
due to anxiety. This study aims to uncover the main effect of anxiety on students’
oral performance and the main causes of this anxiety. Furthermore, this study aims to
find out the convenient strategies that both teachers and students use in order to
minimize students’ anxiety. It is hypothesized that if third year LMD Students
suffered from anxiety, their oral performance would be affected negatively. It is also
hypothesized that if these students can overcome or reduce anxiety when they speak,
they can improve their oral performance. In this study, two questionnaires are used:
The students’ questionnaire is given to 45 third year LMD students at the department
of letters and English language, University of Mentouri Brothers Constantine. The
second questionnaire is administered to 15 teachers of oral expression at the same
department. The results display that anxiety is a real problem that students suffer
from in speaking English and it really affects students’ oral performance negatively.
Furthermore, third year LMD students become depressed due to many factors;
among them fear of making mistakes, negative evaluation and negative feedback
which hinder them from doing well in their performance.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=15360 The Effect of Anxiety on Students’ Oral Performance The Case of Third Year LMD Students of English at Mentouri University, Constantine [texte imprimé] / Meriem Ihoual, Auteur ; Azeddine Boulfelfel, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2021 . - 85 f. ; 30 cm.

Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie electronique PDF disponible au BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : A Background on Classroom Discourse Teachers Teaching Strategy Verbal and non-verbal Communication. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The current study aims at determining the significant role that classroom discourse
plays in the development of students’ communicative competence in Mentouri Brothers
University of Constantine 01, department of letters and English Language. It focuses on
learners’ interaction during classroom discussions and its impact on students’ development of
communicative competence. It also highlights teachers’ tools and strategies implemented in
the classroom to help students’ overcome their difficulties in speaking English. To reach the
objectives of this study, quantitative and qualitative research design were used. First, a
questionnaire was administered to second year EFL learners at the University of Mentouri
Brothers in order to report the quality of classroom interaction that occurs between teacher
and students or among students themselves. The second data used was teachers’
questionnaire. This questionnaire was directed to teachers in order to demonstrate the causes
that hinder students’ poor communication abilities, as well, to find out the methods teachers
implement to help students overcome their difficulties in developing their English
communication competence. It is hypothesized that the application of classroom discourse in
EFL classes improves the students’ communicative competence. It is also hypothesized that
the teachers’ use of techniques and strategies in class enables students to improve their
communicative competence. The analysis of the findings of both students’ and teachers’
questionnaires, indeed, reveals that, on the one hand, classroom interaction has favored a lot
the enhancement of students’ communicative competence and, on the other hand, the methods
provided by teachers have been effective to develop students’ communicvative competence.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=15395 the role of classroom discourse and teacher's strategies in fostering students commubicative competence [texte imprimé] / Marwa Amel Beziane, Auteur ; Azeddine Boulfelfel, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2021 . - 78 f. ; 30 cm.

Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie electronique PDF disponible au BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : The Five Stages of Speaking English as Foreign Language. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Learning a foreign language is a hard task, it requires a mastery of the four skills. Listening and
speaking are considered as the most important skills in language learning. Today many
researchers agree that listening can be used as a tool to improve speaking. This current study is
carried out to investigate the role of listening in enhancing the student’s speaking performance,
and the main aim behind this work is to show how listening can be used as an efficient means
to improve and enhance the speaking skill. We hypothesize that students who are exposed more
to the target language, are likely to be good and fluent speakers. This research paper is made
up of two chapters, the chapter is divided into two sections. The first section is devoted to
listening, we will study it from many angles. The second one is devoted to explain the speaking
skill and then show the relationship between listening and speaking. Additionally, in this study
we have used two questionnaires as a tool of research, one addressed to 08 oral expression
teachers at the department of English in Constantine University and the other is addressed to
30 3rd year LMD students in the same department. Based on the findings, we find out that
students cope with many problems concerning both listening and speaking such as lack of
vocabulary, speed of delivery, and pronunciation. So, we tried to give some tips and materials
to use in order to face these problems and develop the ability to listen and speak appropriately.
As a result, we have realized that both teachers and students agree on using listening as a skill
to improve speaking. Therefore, it can be said that listening is a good vehicle to develop the
speaking skill.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=15356 The Role of Exposure to the Target Language in Enhancing the Students’ Speaking Skill.
