| Résumé : |
The present research aims to investigate the learning style preferences of male and female
learners in EFL classrooms on the basis of the VARK questionnaire. Particular emphasis is
devoted to comparing students‟ learning styles in relation to their gender, and partial emphasis
is devoted to students‟ awareness of their own learning styles. It is hypothesized that “there
are significant differences between male and female EFL students‟ learning style
preferences”, and to test this hypotheses, the VARK questionnaire (version 8.1) is
administrated to 60 second-year students of English at The “Frères Mentouri” University,
Constantine. The results obtained from the questionnaire show that multimodality is the most
dominant preference, with the percentage of 78.32% from the total respondents, 36.66% being
females and 41.66% being males. The remaining 21.64% are single modal preference, with
13.32% females and 8.32% males. From the results above we can say that there are no
significant differences in males and females learning style preferences. |
