Résumé : |
This study attempts to examine the effectiveness of cooperative group work on the improvement of the learners‟writing skill at the level of the third year secondary school. It aims at finding whether the use of cooperative group work motivates learners and pushes them to write better or not. In order to complete this study, we relied on two questionnaires, the first one was given to the teachers, and the second one was directed to the third year learners to collect the required date about their attitudes towards the use of cooperative group work in classrooms. The results obtained show that cooperative group work is a beneficial way to improve the learners‟writing skill, and almost all teachers and learners agree about the effectiveness of group work. However, both of them argue that cooperative group work contains many problems that has a bad influence on teachers and learners. That is why, it is preferred by teachers to keep controlling all the group members to avoid noise and the reliance of learners on each others. This way, cooperative group work will be more useful and successful, though, it is too difficult to control all the group members especially in large classes. |
