Résumé :	The present study tries to investigate the problems that Master one translation students may face when they translate medical terms from English into Arabic and from Arabic into English. We hypothesize that Master one translation students will find difficulties in translating medical terms from English into Arabic and vice versa, and we think this is due to their lack of familiarity with them. To check this hypothesis, two tests and a questionnaire are administered to a sample of Master one translation students at the department of translation, University of Constantine 1. The analysis of the data reveals that the participants have an acceptable performance in translating medical words from English into Arabic. However, when being asked to translate medical terms from Arabic into English, they were at a loss. We believe that this is due to their lack of familiarity with this kind of terms. To help students cope with this problem more successfully, some pedagogical recommendations are provided.
