Résumé : |
The following research examines the US gun laws making, focusing on the role played by the National Rifle Association in law-ratifications and accounting for the outcomes of gun availability and how they created major problems for the government and the citizens as well. The study is divided into two significant chapters. The opening chapter studies the NRA’s political transformation and how powerful and dominant this organization is, how that resulted in an overflow of guns among civilians causing the escalation of gun-related crimes. It also explains how gun-laws differ from state to state. The second chapter shows how Americans see guns and reports the consequences of people’s easy access to guns and how it fuels gangs, mass shootings, and suicides. |

This dissertation deals with the role and impact of Nelson Mandela in ending
Apartheid, to which the colored South Africans and Indians were subjected. It also explains
why Mandela is considered a controversial hero. After the victory of the South African
National Party consisting of the white minority, Apartheid was maintained as an official
policy. This research analyzes the life of the revolutionary and anti-apartheid politician
Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela Madiba, who joined several political parties since his youth and
led violent and non-violent groups. Mandela was imprisoned for twenty-seven years in
Robbin Island and Pollsmoore prisons for his anti-apartheid activism; he was accused of
sabotage, terrorism and corruption. Nelson Mandela believed that there is no difference
between white and black people, they are all equal. After a long period of struggle, Rolihlahla
Mandela achieved his goal. He led his nation, with a large group of militants, and succeeded in ending Apartheid regime. Madiba established a new peaceful and United South Africa. |

Index. décimale : |

Résumé : |
The American foreign policy had intensively focused on the Middle East after the
11th September attacks. President George W. Bush's administration emphasized the
issue of the war on terror. The invasion of Iraq was the initial step which was adopted
by America to fulfill this strategy. Six years later, President Obama's administration
came with new agenda which was completely different from the previous one. The
main focus of this research is to state the similarities and differences in devising
American foreign policy towards the Middle East after the invasion of Iraq in 2003
and the main features that made the American policy makers devise nonintervention
foreign policy towards Syria in 2011. To analyze and criticize ideas from primary and
secondary sources are the most important methods to state the relations between the
ideas mentioned above, these methods help to determine the kind and the type of
American foreign policy towards the Middle East. This dissertation consists from
three chapters; the first chapter examines the historical context of the Post-Cold War
American foreign policy towards the Middle East. The second chapter is a
chronological analysis to the change of American foreign policy from the 11th attacks
arriving to post-Saddam Iraq. The third chapter compares the two administration's
ideals in both Iraq and Syria, by providing the main aspects of Inconsistency and
discontinuity dominates the making of US foreign policy towards the Middle East |

Index. décimale : |

Résumé : |
The Harlem Renaissance was a marking point in the history and culture of African
Americans. It played an important role in the shaping of their identity and culture as a race with
capacities as equal as any other race. This dissertation discusses the importance of the Harlem
Renaissance as a cultural and historical movement in terms of ideas and the change it resulted in.
Blacks‘ art exploded in the 1920s to play a major role in the construction of the Negro image
later, an image that had been ruined because of their past and slavery. Literature, music, visual
arts were the fields that flourished to express the worth of African Americans‘ culture and put an
end to the stereotypes. This research examines the influence of the Harlem renaissance art on the
reconstruction of the image of the old Negro and how was he represented by the New Negro of
the 1920s |
