Résumé :	This researchstudyisanattempttoinvestigatestudents’interestsand abilities intranslatingtheconnotativemeaningofpoliticaldiscourse from EnglishintoArabic.Inordertofulfilthework,itishypothesised that if First YearMaster Applied Linguistics Studies studentsusethe right strategieswhiletranslatingtheconnotativemeaningofpolitical discourse fromEnglishintoArabic,they would be abletotranslate them correctly.To check the hypothesis,aquestionnaireandatest have been used. The resultsobtainedshowthatthemajorityof students are confronting pragmatic, emotive,ideologicalandstylistic difficulties inconnotativetranslationofpoliticaldiscoursefrom English into Arabicmainlybecause theyhavepoorvocabulary.Inthe light ofthis, the hypothesisisdisconfirmed (H0).
