Résumé : |
This study examines the impact of global real-time media on the U.S. foreign policy decision making with special focus on the CNN effect theory. It traces back the origins and the development of the CNN hypothesis through reviewing the prominent studies that have been conducted by leading scholars in both international relations and communication fields. The study also draws a clear attention to the alternative theories that stand in opposition to this claim in order to broaden the understanding of this phenomenon. At the end the study founds a ground about the relationship between media and foreign policy formulation and assesses the validity and limitations of researches conducted on the impact of media on foreign policy. |
