Résumé : |
This dissertation aims at studying the students‘ awareness of punctuation marks impact on their writing and identifying the deficiencies in using them. Since punctuation plays a crucial role in inferring the exact meaning, this work aims at recognizing how the right use of these marks improve one‘s written product. We assume that students would produce an effective writing, if they were aware of punctuations rules on the one hand and practised these rules on the other hand. To achieve our objective, we will conduct a questionnaire and a test with fifteen Master two Applied Linguistics students of English at the department of Foreign Languages, University of Constantine. The results are in compliance with to the hypothesis because the questionnaires results seem contradictory to those of the test. In spite of the student‘s awareness of punctuations importance, their results were too weak. This is the reason why shedding light on this particular aspect of writing seems of great interest to us. |
