Résumé : |
It is believed that both genders speak the same way; however, if you look closely at their
speech, some differences will be noticed. The present dissertation attempts to investigate the
major elements which make males’ and females’ speech different especially at the lexical
level because men and women are most likely to use different vocabulary in their everyday
communication. In addition to that, the research tries to figure out some reasons that are
behind these differences. It is assumed that males and females do not speak the same way and
that there are some reasons behind these differences. To confirm or refute this assumption,
two questionnaires have been administered to M I students and to Oral Expression teachers at
the department of English, University of Constantine. We intended to explore teachers’
observations about their students’ distinct conversations in classrooms, and the students’ use
of language (choice of words, style of speech, linguistic forms, and conversation). The results
of the study have shown that most, if not all; teachers strongly believe that through
interaction, learners use language differently. In addition, M I male and female students do
use different vocabulary, different style of conversation. By this it could be said that the
hypothesis is confirmed |
