Résumé : |
The present study aims at studying the difficulties in learning English prepositions. Thus, the
objective of the study is to extract the errors that are frequently made by Arab learners in
using English prepositions, particularly “in”, “inside”, “into” and “to”, and to investigate the
causes behind that. Error Analysis is used in this study as a way to describe and analyze the
errors made by foreign learners. Data were derived from a test answered by a randomly
selected sample of 40 students. The results revealed that the interference from the mother
tongue (Arabic) and the strategies of the target language itself (English) are major sources of
the EFL learners’ errors |
