Résumé : |
The present study deals with the development of students’ fluency and accuracy,
taking into consideration the effects of SST (Students’ Speaking Time) and TST
(Teachers’ Speaking Time). The main concern of the study is to investigate how more
TST than SST affects students’ fluency and accuracy, and prevent their progress. To
look into such an issue, the following hypothesis was advanced: If first year students
of University of Constantine would talk more than their teachers, they could improve
their sub-speaking skills of fluency and accuracy. To test this hypothesis, two
questionnaires are administered, one to 07 Oral Expression teachers, and the other to
25 first year students. After the analysis of the results of the two questionnaires, the
researchers could arrive to understand that students suffer from a real lack of time for
speaking, and that by contrast if they were given more time to speak, they would
enhance their speaking. Such results allowed to say that the hypothesis was to some
extent (H1) confirmed. |
