Résumé : |
The present study aims to explore the relationship between group work and students’ selfesteem.
T he present work is concerned with the study of pair or small group work in order to
increase the learners’ beliefs that they will be capable, significant, successful, and worthy.
In order to check this correlation we have hypothesized that the more students engage in
cooperative work, the more they will trust and believe in their capabilities.
The research methodology adopted in this study is a descriptive one, it intends to describe
two variables; cooperative learning as the independent variable and its role in promoting selfesteem
as the dependent variable. Data were gathered through two main questionnaires,
administered to a sample of third year LMD students, and to the teachers at the department of
English.
The results obtained from the present research showed that there is a positive relationship
between cooperative learning and students’ self-esteem, and that this relationship affects
directly their level of academic achievement in general; a reality that is agreed by all teachers’
answers to the questionnaire. |
