This study aims at examining the importance of motivation in learning a foreign language, by students of first year, Department of Arts and English language, University 1 of Constantine. That is why we hypothesized that does success leads to motivation or not and that if first year students of English succeed, they are motivated to learn. To test this hypothesis, a questionnaire is administered to a sample of students of first year English. The results from the deliberation of the group thirteen of first year students show that the most successful students are the most motivated. Finally, there are some suggestions on how to arouse students‟ motivation in order to help them enhance their level and achieve better results. |
