Résumé :	The present study is composed of two chapters. The first one is a literature review related to the effects of verbal feedback on students’ motivation. The second is a practical one devoted to the elicited data. The study aims at finding out whether verbal feedback affects students’ motivation to learn English. Besides, it aims at probing the extent to which teachers are aware of the possible effects that verbal feedback may have on students’ feelings and their motivation. We hypothesize that when teachers provide students with appropriate feedback about their performance, students’ motivation to learn would increase. In order to test the validity of the hypothesis, two questionnaires are carried out. One is filled in by thirty second year students of lycée of Bardo, and the other by ten teachers of lycées of Bardo, Arres, and Baynan in Mila. The data allowed us to evaluate the significant importance of oral feedback on students’ affective sides as well as their motivation. Furthermore, the questionnaire designed to teachers allowed us to gauge the degree of teachers’ awareness on the issue
