The present research aims to examine how students of English attempt to translate scientific
terms from English into Arabic. The translation of these specific terms seems to pose many
difficulties to the students, and this is caused by student’s lack of mastery of
the scientific field in question. We hypothesized that the students cannot translate scientific
terms adequately and this is what has been shown through the data collected by means of a
questionnaire and a test given to a sample of Master one applied languages students ,at the
department of English, Mentouri University, Constantine .The results obtained have revealed
that because of their Lack of mastery of the scientific field, students have made inappropriate
translations, and through this research we attempt to give them some recommendations in
order to solve such problems |
