Résumé : |
In Many of Educational Institutions, students encounter difficulties while they are attempting
to learn how to write perfect English. It is for this reason that this research is aiming to study
the importance of writing in English.
It should be noted here that writing in foreign language is one of the most difficult and
sophisticated tasks that are encountered by language learners. It is for this reason, that
mastering writing skills such as the prewriting stage is one of the most important tasks, in
producing an efficient piece of writing. The goal of this research is to investigate the position
and effectiveness of the prewriting stage in the writing process, through the use of different
methods, namely questionnaires and a t-test given to third year students Department of
English University of Constantine1.On the one hand, we find that Prewriting exercises
provide structure and meaning to the topic, on the other hand, students before begin to write a
draft; they use the prewriting strategies in order to organize and generate ideas. The results
also provided by the questionnaire should confirm the hypothesis about students’ awareness,
and prove the role of teachers, in attracting students’ attention to the importance of prewriting
stage, and how to respect the use of sub-stages. Furthermore, the results of the t-test should
support and confirm the hypothesis stated at the beginning of this research that the use of
prewriting is beneficial to students. |
