Résumé : |
Recent studies in the field of language teaching, emphasize the importance of the learning
process and the central role of the learner. With the new role that is assigned to the learner,
our classrooms have to be reconsidered, and much more emphasis has to be given to the
learner. In fact, the learning context greatly affects the learner and the rate of his intake.
Because writing is significant teaching techniques to teach this skill were investigated, and the
extent to which they incorporate elements of Cooperative Language Learning. Therefore, the
present dissertation aims at raising second year teachers of written expression at the
department of English, University of Mentouri awareness towards the value of Cooperative
Language Learning. In order to investigate this purpose, a hypothesis is put forward. It states
that teachers of written expression provide second year students with opportunities to learn
cooperatively, the latter will be able to improve their writing skill. To carry out this study, two
questionnaires were used one for teachers, and another for students. The questionnaires were
analysed. The results of teachers' questionnaire show that second year teachers have included
cooperative language learning in their classes. Students' questionnaire demonstrates that they
prefer using group work in writing classes, since it is beneficial for them to improve their
writing skill. |
