Titre : . Enhancing vocabulary learning through the use of games : Case study: first year students, department of english, University of Mentouri brothers, Constantine Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Aya Atma, Auteur ; Besma Bendekkari, Auteur ; Amel Alouache, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 56 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : VApplied Language Studies ocabulary Games Learning Enhancing Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Learning English vocabulary is a basic and very important part in learning a given language. Indeed, it is crucial in the learning of the four skills of language namely speaking, writing, listening and reading. Therefore, the lack of vocabulary will definitely cause several problems to EFL learners in their quest to acquire English. The research work aims at shedding light on the effectiveness of using games as a technique for learning to improve First Year in the department of English Languages and their knowledge of English vocabulary items. Therefore, it is hypothesized that if teachers rely on using language games in their teaching, the students' vocabulary acquisition will be facilitated. To verify the hypothesis, we use two means of tools: a questionnaire administered to twenty six 1st year EFL students at Mentouri Brothers University, Constantine and a classroom observation. The results obtained from both means of research confirmed the hypothesis. They showed students’ awareness of the educational value of learning vocabulary through games. The findings also revealed how learners can acquire more vocabulary easily. Therefore, it is worth to conclude that games integrated as a teaching material since they generate an adequate environment for vocabulary acquisition and thus would facilitate comprehension and communication. CommunicationIndex. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Learning to speak English as a foreign language is a complex and challenging task to achieve.
It involves not only mastering grammatical rules; but requires also knowledge of vocabulary
i.e. knowing how things, ideas and concepts are actually labeled in English language. Due to a
wide range of words, vocabulary learning is a difficult task that requires much effort and
patience from learners. For this specific reason, an appropriate method and teaching materials
which appeal to learners should be selected. In this research we aim to make the teaching
sphere much more aware of the positive impact that communicative taskssuch as role- playing
technique could have on learners. The considerable lexical input that role-playing brings into
EFL classrooms should be taken into account. In fact, such activityis an enjoyable one, and it
offers the opportunity to EFL learners to act out real-life situations that involve the use of
specific lexicon. The vocabulary acquired will help students in enriching their lexical database.
It is by means of observation, recording, transcribing and analyzing students’ roleplaying
performances, that we investigated our research hypothesis with beginner learners in
an EFL private school. The findings gathered in this study confirmed the set hypothesis that if
learners were given more opportunities to practice language through situational
communicative activities such as role-playing, greater will be their chances to learn new
vocabulary for adequate speech situations.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3422 Teaching/learning vocabulary from communication based on the textbook new interchange english for international communication [texte imprimé] / Amar Benarab, Auteur ; Karima Lakehal ayat, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2011 . - 84 f. ; 30 cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Langues Appliquees Learning Motivational Students’ Level Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present dissertation aims at exploring the effects of cooperative learning on students‟
level of writing and how it plays a positive role in motivating students to produce better
compositions among 3rd year students of English as a Foreign Language at the Department of
English University Mentouri Constantine. In order to investigate this correlation, a hypothesis

students‟ motivation to improve their level of writing. The research aims at finding whether
using cooperative learning in writing courses motivates unmotivated students and strengthen
those who are already motivated in order to improve their writing level. To check the validity
of this hypothesis, first a questionnaire composed of twenty three question is administrated to
teachers (a sample of 09 teachers who are teaching or have been teaching written expression
to 3rd year students) of written expression module at the department of English University
Mentouri Constantine. After, students are asked to write compositions which stand as an inclass
test (A sample of 160 3rd year students at the department of English University Mentouri
Constantine. Despite the limited scope of the study, the results from analysing the teachers‟
