Translation becomes an essential activity because of the need to deal with other people who use different languages. Since it is a very wide area of investigation, the present study aims at establishing the role of translation in education and also investigating the effectiveness of using subtitles in learning a foreign language. To reach such a purpose, we have collected the data from a questionnaire directed to forty „40‟ students (master 1) at the department of English, Mentouri University, Constantine. The results obtained show that the majority of the participants use translation in their process of learning. They also prove that subtitles can be used as a tool in learning a foreign language |
