In this study, we aim at exploring the different employments of Information and Communication Technologies in teaching languages, with a main focus on Computer Assisted Language Learning and the technologies in the heading of Multimedia, that are directly in line with the development of oral communication skills. More particularly, this research aims at shedding light on the importance of CALL to serve and create an interactive, communicative and collaborative authentic environment in oral expression classrooms, which in turn, serve for motivating students to develop their oral skills.
It is by means of two questionnaires administered to both teachers and second year students at the Department of Foreign Languages at Mentouri University Constantine that we investigated our hypothesis which looks into students’ motivation and their oral performance development in a Computer Assisted Language Learning environment.
The results of the present study show that Computer Assisted Language Learning is motivational and helps the learners to perform better orally, which means that there is a positive correlation between themDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6694 Investing technology in teaching languages: the impact of computer assisted language learning (call) on developing the oral communication skill of english language learners : The case of second year lmd students of english [texte imprimé] / Samir Benaskeur, Auteur ; Harouni Zahri, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2012 . - 60 f. ; 30 cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Applied Language Studies Learning via Translation Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Translation becomes an essential activity because of the need to deal with other people who use different languages. Since it is a very wide area of investigation, the present study aims at establishing the role of translation in education and also investigating the effectiveness of using subtitles in learning a foreign language. To reach such a purpose, we have collected the data from a questionnaire directed to forty „40‟ students (master 1) at the department of English, Mentouri University, Constantine. The results obtained show that the majority of the participants use translation in their process of learning. They also prove that subtitles can be used as a tool in learning a foreign language Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6557 Learning via translation : Subtitles as an aid in learning a foreign language [texte imprimé] / Rokia Hamida, Auteur ; Harouni Zahri, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2012 . - 55 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : Problems encountered by second year students of english in translating false friends from french into english and from english into french Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Hammoudi Elbatoul, Auteur ; Safia Lemâadi, Auteur ; Harouni Zahri, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 76 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Applied Language Studies Encountered Second Year Students Friends from French into English Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This study is a qualitative and quantitative investigation undertaken to afford an elucidation
about the different obstacles that may be encountered by second-year undergraduate students in
the Department of English, Mentouri University , Constantine, while translating false friends in
different contexts from French into English, and vice versa. This study aims therefore at
highlighting and finding out the influence of French on English and the extension of the
aberrations that result from translating false friends. The research data gathered through a test
are divided into two parts; the first part consists of translating false friends from French into
English and the second part includes translating false friends from English into French. The
research data analysis is carried out to confirm the hypothesis of this study which is: if learners
identify the similarities and the differences between the source language and the target
language, they can elude from falling in the pitfall of false friends. After the treatment of the
detected errors, the results reveal that the main reason behind students’ inaccuracy in translating
false friends is the influence of French (their first foreign language) on learning English
(second foreign language). This case constitutes a critical problem for the learners. Based on
the results achieved, some recommendations are proposed to teachers and learners of English to
manage such a problem.
