Résumé : |
This dissertation, a total of two chapters, is intended to investigate Computer Assisted Language Learning as a method that is used to motivate students to perform better orally, in order to develop their speaking skills. In this study, we aim at exploring the different employments of Information and Communication Technologies in teaching languages, with a main focus on Computer Assisted Language Learning and the technologies in the heading of Multimedia, that are directly in line with the development of oral communication skills. More particularly, this research aims at shedding light on the importance of CALL to serve and create an interactive, communicative and collaborative authentic environment in oral expression classrooms, which in turn, serve for motivating students to develop their oral skills.
It is by means of two questionnaires administered to both teachers and second year students at the Department of Foreign Languages at Mentouri University Constantine that we investigated our hypothesis which looks into students’ motivation and their oral performance development in a Computer Assisted Language Learning environment.
The results of the present study show that Computer Assisted Language Learning is motivational and helps the learners to perform better orally, which means that there is a positive correlation between them |
