Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Communication Strategies are strategies used by speakers of a foreign language to repair
communication breakdowns and achieve their communicative goals in case of insufficient
linguistic knowledge. This research study is an attempt to investigate different aspects of
learners’ use of CSs. It aims to explore the relation between learners’ proficiency levels and
their strategy use. It also aims at investigating learners’ attitudes concerning CS use and CS
instruction. We hypothesised that the more proficient learners would use a wider range of CSs
and, thus, would be in control of their communicative skills in the foreign language. To test
the validity of this hypothesis, an online questionnaire is administered to first year master
students at the Department of English, University of Frères Mentouri - Constantine 1. The
results of the analysis of the data confirm the research hypothesis. The findings also suggest
learners’ lack of awareness concerning CSs despite their extensive use of these strategies in
their oral production of English. The study leads to recommendations concerning strategy
instruction through raising learners’ awareness on the importance of CSs and the different
types of CSs available to overcome communication breakdowns when using the foreign
language.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13465 Investigating Learners’ Use of Communication Strategies in Relation to their Speaking Proficiency Levels: The Case of First Year Master Students at the Department of Letters and the English Language, University of Frères Mentouri - Constantine 1 [texte imprimé] / Dounia Kerroud, Auteur ; Youcef Beghoul, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2020 . - 95 f. ; 30cm.

Titre : Strategy to enhance e.f.l students’ oral communication : Case study of first year students of english at mentouri universitytronique pdf disponible en buc Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Abdeldjalil Boughezal, Auteur ; Abdelhak Nemouchi, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2014 Importance : 113 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie elelctronique PDF disponible en Buc Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Language Sciences Active Listening Communication Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : English has become one of the widespread staple languages around the world. Regardless of the diverse motives to learn English, the common desire for most learners is to have the potential to communicate and express their minds spontaneously and effectively to accomplish the different activities and responsibilities they face daily. Hence, oral communication, which is a primordial process to convey ones ideas and express their thoughts to other people, requires dexterity and proficiency to transfer a meaningful, persuasive and adequate message. This oral proficiency would only be reached by incorporating a blend of effective factors and strategies among which Listening is considered of a paramount importance. The present dissertation, a total of two chapters, is a humble attempt to investigate the hypothesis which states: “If teachers do incorporate listening as an active technique and strategy in their first year oral expression classes at Mentouri University, this may enhance their students’ oral communication.” This piece of research, as a result, puts the stress on a conundrum, E.F.L learners at Mentouri University struggle to get a grip on since years, which is a poor oral communication ability. Relying on the active use of listening as the suitable and fruitful strategy teachers can use as a panacea for their learners speaking deficiencies is the objective of this dissertation. Thus, this research is carried out by means of two questionnaires and a quasi-experiment. Thirty eight (38) First Year L.M.D students in the Department of Letters and English Language at Mentouri University were invited to fill in a questionnaire and participate in the conduction of the quasi-experiment. On the other hand, twelve (12) teachers of “oral expression” with a considerable experience were mannerly asked to provide us with their standpoints about some aspects that have a direct relation with the subject matter. The elements gathered from the foregoing means of research have been analysed and compared under scrutiny. Subsequently, the results gathered definitely confirm the set hypothesis.

CommunicationIndex. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Learning to speak English as a foreign language is a complex and challenging task to achieve.
It involves not only mastering grammatical rules; but requires also knowledge of vocabulary
i.e. knowing how things, ideas and concepts are actually labeled in English language. Due to a
wide range of words, vocabulary learning is a difficult task that requires much effort and
patience from learners. For this specific reason, an appropriate method and teaching materials
which appeal to learners should be selected. In this research we aim to make the teaching
sphere much more aware of the positive impact that communicative taskssuch as role- playing
technique could have on learners. The considerable lexical input that role-playing brings into
EFL classrooms should be taken into account. In fact, such activityis an enjoyable one, and it
offers the opportunity to EFL learners to act out real-life situations that involve the use of
specific lexicon. The vocabulary acquired will help students in enriching their lexical database.
It is by means of observation, recording, transcribing and analyzing students’ roleplaying
performances, that we investigated our research hypothesis with beginner learners in
an EFL private school. The findings gathered in this study confirmed the set hypothesis that if
learners were given more opportunities to practice language through situational
communicative activities such as role-playing, greater will be their chances to learn new
vocabulary for adequate speech situations.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3422 Teaching/learning vocabulary from communication based on the textbook new interchange english for international communication [texte imprimé] / Amar Benarab, Auteur ; Karima Lakehal ayat, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2011 . - 84 f. ; 30 cm.
