Résumé : |
This study aims at exploring the teachers’ attitudes towards the importance of speaking and listening skills in the oral expression classrooms and their role in developing the students’ Oral proficiency. The main problem underlying this work is that the priority of improving the students’ speaking and listening skills and the methods followed by teachers to develop the students’ capacities of learning oral expression. To carry out this research and confirm this hypothesis, if teachers prefer and consider the speaking skill as the most important skill, it could enhance the students’ communicative proficiency. A questionnaire is administered to teachers of oral expression to identify their attitudes towards the importance of the listening skills. The findings of this study show that although teachers consider listening as important as speaking they focus more on teaching speaking, the results also indicate that most teachers ado a communicate method which they consider the appropriate method to develop the students’ oral skills. |
