Résumé : |
This study investigates the effectiveness of the inductive approach to learning English
grammar. It aims at findings out which approach is more beneficial for students of English
and the extent of its impact in improving their level. To achieve the aim of this study, and to
confirm or refute the hypothesis which states basically that if students are taught grammar
inductively they would learn better. Two questionnaires are addressed to 10 teachers in the
department of English and 30 Master 01 Applied Language students in the same department.
The results obtained from both questionnaires show that the inductive approach is more
appropriate and effective for teaching grammar. On that basis, the study recommends the
necessity of implementing the inductive approach in teaching English grammar to bring about
better outcomes in students’ achievement. It also suggests that researches should be conducted
on the effectiveness of the inductive approach on different dimensions of achieving English
