Résumé : |
This study tries to investigate the peaceful methods of struggle used by the lawyer Mahatma Gandhi against the British colonization. These methods were very effective in the battle between the Indians and The British. The Indian Revolts tried to stand against massive power of Britain. Mahatma Gandhi who went to South Africa in order to work as a lawyer witnessed the oppression which was exercised towards the Indians settled there. This was an inspiration for him to defend their rights nonviolently. Gandhi returned to India and decided to start his struggle against the British colonization; he became an active member in the Indian National Congress and preceded his struggle. Mahatma Gandhi tried something else: it was the nonviolence struggle depicted in protests, marches and fasts. Actually Gandhi launched over 17 fasts in the road of independence, he used also the famous Salt March and The Quit India Movement as weapons against the British. Britain became exhausted because of Gandhi, the Indian Congress and the Muslim league. Finally Britain gave Independence to India, but divided it into two states because of the tension that was rooted between Hindus and Muslims. |

Index. décimale : |

Résumé : |
The period between 1970 till 1974, was considered as one of the most important periods that was criticized by the British society especially in terms of Education Policy. Margaret Thatcher was the first woman that assumed the post of Prime Minister in Britain, and the greatest influential political figures of the twentieth century. She did not agree on the previous systems of education, so she decided to change the Curriculum and put some reforms in order to improve it for best of the Britons. She came to the cabinet of Education by her thoughts, principles that were inspired by her father and views that were driven in large part by her personal experience as a student. Education meant everything to Thatcher; so that, she decided to work on this field in order to improve great system of education for the British society and for the benefit of the parent’s schoolchildren. Therefore, this work put a highlight on the changes and reforms faced by Margret Thatcher’s government in the overhaul of education in Britain. In fact, it led to a deep gap that led to other completely different visions and opinions. |
