Translation of religious works is even more complicated for many reasons. Difficulties related to the translation of Islamic literature, including the Quran translations, emerge even before one gets to work with the source text, i.e., the difficulty of interpreting of the concept of translation itself. For that, this research identifies the linguistic difficulties in translating the Holy Quran. It attempts to elaborate some lexical, syntactic and semantic problems and support the argument with examples of verses from the Quran. A comparative study was dealt with as a part of this research; Ali Yusuf and Arberry methods of translating verses were the most notable. We found out that the Quran has not only deep theological sense, but is partially written in rhymed prose and its unique meter cannot be merely rendered in English or any other language. From that point of view, one can only try to maintain its beauty in the translation by rendering it by the means of the target language. Thus, we have come to demonstrate that comprehending the Quran theologically needs not only random introspection into the holy text, but as well getting acquainted with the tafseers of the recognised alims, and following not the sequence of the ayahs in the Quran, but the logic of the mission of Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and the sequence of the ayahs as they were revealed. which is reading comprehension of scientific and technical texts. Two deterministic factors
which are background knowledge or discipline-related knowledge and linguistic competence
or language knowledge are manipulated and tested in order to determine their contribution level
for successful comprehension inside and outside classrooms. Therefore, the purpose of this
study is to investigate the degree of importance of background knowledge and linguistic
competence in the comprehension of scientific texts, i.e., can one of the two variables
compensate the other one to maintain successful EST texts’ comprehension; another purpose is
to survey teachers’ attitudes and their actual way of dealing with these factors. Hence, it is
hypothesised that when comparing students of English and students of biology, linguistic
competence seems to be prior than scientific knowledge background for the first and subsequent
for the second. On the basis of the study’s aim, data are collected from a test and questionnaire.
The test was delivered to fifty two (52) students enrolled in two different departments: English
and Biology departments in which twenty six (26) subjects are from the faculty of English
representing the linguistic variable and other twenty six (26) subjects are from the faculty of
Biology representing the scientific background knowledge. The questionnaire was
administrated to eight (8) ESP and EST teachers. The results of this study showed that the test
was more precise than the questionnaire which gave various views concerning the variables
under study, however, most teachers agreed on the significance of both factors and on favouring
background knowledge while teaching. Similarly, the test revealed that those who have high
scientific background knowledge performed better than those who are more competent in the
English language. As a result, the suggested hypothesis is rejected; however, this conclusion

English legal terms and know their exact contextual meanings in the source language (English),
they would accordingly provide right Arabic equivalents. Therefore, legal translation is chosen
because it is; not only a significant area in literary translation, but also an effective means to
approach legal systems, because of legal systems’ differences. Furthermore, students from this
class have dealt with legal translation because they learnt Translation as a subject matter for a
period of time at the university. Additionally, legal terms have been translated into many
languages, and the Arabic language is involved for facilitating the understanding of any legal
system. Twenty-two (22) students have done the test where the data showed that students have
had very little difficulties when translating these legal terms as it is inducted that they had full
immersions with them previously. Consequently, they were able to translate these legal terms
