Résumé : |
Motivation is one of the critical elements required for successful reading performance. Therefore, the lack of motivation is considered as one of the basic problems that EFL learners encounter while communicating. The present work attempts to investigate the role of extrinsic motivation to improve learners’ reading performance. The present research work is a case study of second year LMD English students in the department of English at Mentouri University. Data collection was done two instruments of research: a students’ questionnaire and reading test. In order to investigate the influence of some external motivators on students’ reading achievement. The results obtained from the data collected allowed us to know about how much students are aware about the importance of foreign language reading, what affects it and the significant role of the extrinsic motivation on developing students’ reading performance. |
