This dissertation attempts to investigate second year L M D students' listening
comprehension achievement. This dissertation contains two chapters, including one test on the
effect of using the English song on the listening comprehension achievement. It aims at
describing, and analyzing, what the listening skill involves, and showing how English songs
can be used as a listening input in EFL classroom. An English song provides a great package
concerning language such as vocabulary. However, some difficulties face has been neglected
as a language skill, or practiced in inadequate ways which results in.In this study, we use a
test investigating second year LMD students‟ understanding and needs concerning the
listening comprehension component of the oral expression course, as well as the listening
input they had so far. As the results of the test show, students were keen on using songs as a
listening input. The results of the study tend to suggest the following methodological
procedures: practicing the rhythm, stress and the intonation patterns of the English language,
teaching vocabulary and grammar, developing listening comprehension. Learners tend to
relate the songs theme to their realities and to their personal experiences |
