taking into consideration the effects of SST (Students’ Speaking Time) and TST
(Teachers’ Speaking Time). The main concern of the study is to investigate how more
TST than SST affects students’ fluency and accuracy, and prevent their progress. To
look into such an issue, the following hypothesis was advanced: If first year students
of University of Constantine would talk more than their teachers, they could improve
their sub-speaking skills of fluency and accuracy. To test this hypothesis, two
questionnaires are administered, one to 07 Oral Expression teachers, and the other to
25 first year students. After the analysis of the results of the two questionnaires, the
researchers could arrive to understand that students suffer from a real lack of time for
speaking, and that by contrast if they were given more time to speak, they would
enhance their speaking. Such results allowed to say that the hypothesis was to some
extent (H1) confirmed.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6445 Aiding students to better their fluency and accuracy considerations of the teacher’s and the student’s speaking times : The case of first year students of english, university of constantine [texte imprimé] / Nour El-Houda Hobar, Auteur ; Lamia Idiou, Auteur ; Nacif Labed, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2015 . - 55 f. ; 30 cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Applied Language Studies Building English Idiomatic Writing Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present research, which is made up of two chapters, is conducted to check then build up
Master One students’ awareness of idioms. It is in an attempt to draw their attention to the
importance of using figures of speech in academic written production, for example idioms. We
noticed a lack of knowledge of idioms amongst Master One students of English Civilization and
Literature in the Department of Languages, as well as, simple writings, poor of images and
figures of speech in general. So, we decided to initiate an awareness building about idioms. We
focused on showing them how they can make their compositions more interesting and aesthetic
using the Idiomatic Expressions. We came up with two hypotheses; the first one is that if
students are introduced to idioms, then their ability of understanding and appropriately using
them will be higher. The second hypothesis is: the more these students use idioms in their
writing the more expressive, vivid and prestigious it gets. In order to validate such hypotheses
we designed a pre-test to check their awareness, a post-test to check the effectiveness of the two
courses given after the pre-test. These courses were to introduce the students to idioms and their
importance in writing. The results obtained showed a lack of students knowledge of idioms and a
lack of mastery. They also proved the effectiveness of our introduction of idioms and thus, our
first hypothesis was confirmed. However, the results have also shown that it was not effective
enough to make these students use idioms in their writings. We concluded saying that students
need more lectures, time and especially more practice to use idioms in writing.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6663 An awareness building about the english idiomatic expressions and their use in writing : The case of master one students of english civilization and literature university of constantine [texte imprimé] / Sawsen Benane, Auteur ; Zakaria Bensahih, Auteur ; Nacif Labed, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2011 . - 66 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : Awareness building in order to remedy phrasal verbs avoidance in writing : The case of master one students, foreign languages department university of mentouri constantine Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Mohamed Amine Boucherit, Auteur ; Chouaib Zoughailech, Auteur ; Nacif Labed, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2011 Importance : 70 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Applied Language Studies Building Order Avoidance in Writing Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This project is about the avoidance of phrasal verbs by Master One students in the Department of Foreign Languages. It will explain whether our feedback sessions together with our different devices are enough to build up a significant awareness on the importance of multi-word verbs in writing; in addition to that, if the feedback will encourage students to use these metaphorical expressions more often. We hypothesise that if Master One students understand the importance of phrasal verbs in writing, they will start using them. Our research experiment involved a sample made up of 25 students, they were first tested during a pre-test, then we held two feedback sessions separately; one in the form of a course and in the second, different materials were given to students to enrich their knowledge about multi-word verbs. Finally, we tested once again the students to observe the differences between the first and the second tests‟ results and to find out what was the impact of our manipulation; i.e. to check out our hypothesis. The written productions showed a low degree of the use of compound verbs even after the administration of the feedback; this means that the technique used during the experiment was not sufficient to get significant results. This is the reason why our hypothesis is not confirmed. It proves that we need considerable time for building a serious awareness and for familiarizing learners with such a dynamic vocabulary as phrasal verbs Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=5865 Awareness building in order to remedy phrasal verbs avoidance in writing : The case of master one students, foreign languages department university of mentouri constantine [texte imprimé] / Mohamed Amine Boucherit, Auteur ; Chouaib Zoughailech, Auteur ; Nacif Labed, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2011 . - 70 f. ; 30 cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Applied Language Studies Awareness towards Considering the Euphemistic Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present research is an attempt to rise a certain degree of awareness into the master one
student‟s abilities in order to deduce the meaning of the euphemistic expressions in the
English language; thus, to be able to deal with them easily in the task of translation. The
sample gathered was exposed to three phases; a questionnaire, a pretest, and a posttest.
Students were given this number of tasks for the sake of identifying the difficulties that they
got in terms of translation methods, besides the problems that they face while rendering the
meaning of euphemistic expressions. Last but not least, to try to make them able to detect
euphemisms and to be, to some extent, competent in their meaning transference from English,
the acquired language, into Arabic, the mother tongue, without facing huge obstacles. The
results obtained, show that our samples‟ level in translating euphemistic expressions from
English into Arabic has developed to some extent, however; they need more practice in order
to reach a highest level.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6501 Building awareness towards well considering the euphemistic expressions while translating. : The case of master one students of english, university of constantine 01 [texte imprimé] / Fadia Driouche, Auteur ; Sara Mahcene, Auteur ; Nacif Labed, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2013 . - 62 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : Cooperation as a motivating factor for improving students' writing : The case of first year students, university of constantine Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Meriem Abid, Auteur ; Nacif Labed, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2012 Importance : 68 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Applied Language Studies Cooperation Motivating Improving S tudents' Writing Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present study aims at investigating the role Cooperative Language Learning in motivating
students to produce good paragraphs. For checking this correlation, the following hypothesis
is put forth: if first year students use Cooperative Language Learning while writing, they will
be motivated to develop their writing skills. In other words, the research attempts to figure out
whether using such type of learning in writing sessions would motivate the less motivated
students and strengthen those who are already motivated to enhance their ways of writing. To
verify the validity of this hypothesis, we have administered a teachers’ questionnaire for the
sake of knowing their points of view as far as C.L.L is concerned. We have also conducted a
pre-test and post-test with a sample of 25 first year English students at the Department of
Languages, University of Constantine. In the pre-test, students were asked to write a
paragraph individually. They were also asked some questions for the sake of knowing their
attitudes toward cooperative learning. After giving them a training course about cooperative
learning and its values, we conducted a post-test with the same sample. They were asked to
write a paragraph cooperatively, in groups of four. Besides, they were asked some questions
that point out the students’ responses after experiencing C.L.L. Despite the limited scope of
the study, the obtained results from analyzing the teachers’ questionnaire and students pre-test
and post-test confirm our aforementioned hypothesisDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=5499 Cooperation as a motivating factor for improving students' writing : The case of first year students, university of constantine [texte imprimé] / Meriem Abid, Auteur ; Nacif Labed, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2012 . - 68 f. ; 30 cm.
