Résumé : |
The term ‘corruption’ itself is a negative word, let alone, mental corruption and especially political corruption. This phenomenon dominates any field in the society when there is an absence of discipline and strong moral principles. This work is an exploration of Chinua Achebe's novel A Man of the People emphasizing on the theme of political corruption. Also, it discusses, the post-colonial Nigeria which ‘dives’ in an ocean of corruption from a little drop. Moreover, the work highlights some causes, consequences, and certain solutions to overcome corruption in African continent after the independence, under the lack and the absence of ethic leaders who are able to govern properly and with transparency their countries. So this dissertation examines the way corruption spreads all over African countries and especially Nigeria, focusing on political and administrative corruption, throughout Chinua Achebe's vision in A Man of the People after Nigeria took its independence |
