Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The shift from Victorianism to Modernism in England led to the emergence of new
movements, ideologies, thoughts, and literary genres. Sons and Lovers is one of the greatest
works in the twentieth century that tackles psychological issues. This paper attempts to study,
explain, and examine the modern interests that changed the way people think and behave. It
deals with some psychological issues that were seen earlier as myths. The analysis is based
mainly on the human thinking before Modernism. Using Carl Jung’s theory of collective
unconsciousness, the paper highlights the concept of the Oedipus complex as well as similar
complexes in order to reveal Paul Morel’s alienation and loneliness. The main aim is to
change the widespread idea among critics who assume that Paul Morel has a Oedipus
complex rather than loneliness which he shares with all modernist people.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11518 Alienation and Loneliness in D. Titre : Alienation and The Journey to Redemption in Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Esma Fadel Meriem, Auteur ; Malika Belkharchouche, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2019 Importance : 70 f. Format : 30cm. Note générale : Une copie electronique PDF disponible au BUC. Langues : Français (fre) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Khaled Hosseini The Kite Runner Afghanistan Amir Freud Psychoanalysis Trauma Self-punishment. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This dissertation analyzes the human personality and the consequences of certain
decisions on the psychology of the individual as depicted in Khaled Hosseini‘s novel The
Kite Runner. Human psyche is such a complex world where different elements reside, and
which control the behavior of the person. Some may come from the external world, but
others, the more intricate ones, rise from the unconsciousness. The unconscious elements
are more serious for they are not only uncontrollable, but also unknown. Khaled
Hosseini‘s The Kite Runner, the first American-Afghan novel, tells the story of a boy
named Amir who is faced with a crossroad, a life changing detour, and who takes the
wrong decision. That decision has a lasting impact on his life as an adult, and the only way
to attain redemption is by going back to his country Afghanistan and save his best friend‘s
son, whom he later discovers to be his half-brother. The analysis is done by using the
theories of the father of psychoanalysis Freud. It concentrates first on Amir the child by
using alienation theory, and then psychosexual stages of development are applied. The
study also uses the theories of trauma, self-punishment, and aggression to examine the
struggle of Amir‘s ego and superego.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11566 Alienation and The Journey to Redemption in Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner [texte imprimé] / Esma Fadel Meriem, Auteur ; Malika Belkharchouche, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2019 . - 70 f. ; 30cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : English Language Teachers’ Expectations Students’ Achievement Self-Fulfilling Prophecy. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Research has shown that the idea of teacher’s expectations is seen in every classroom. Many researchers suggest that teacher’s expectations can predict a change in students’ achievement and behaviour. This study discusses the Self-fulfilling prophecy, or the idea that one's expectations about a person can eventually lead that person to behave and achieve in ways that conform to those expectations. The present work aims at showing how teachers form expectations, how they communicate them and their impact on students’ achievement. This study is based on two questionnaires and two interviews administrated to both teachers and third year students to get information about the relationship between teachers’ expectations and students’ achievement. The educational setting in which this study took place is the Department of English at University “Des Frère Mentouri” – Constantine. The analysis of data shows that both learners and teachers are aware that the teacher is the most influential factor that impacts students’ achievement. In addition, teachers confirm that their expectations influence students’ achievement either positively or negatively Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4724 Am i as you see me or do you see me as i am?”the influence of teachers’ expectations on students’ academic achievement : The case of third year LMD students at the department of letters and english language [texte imprimé] / Merzaka Bouhaddad, Auteur ; Souheila Bouhzam, Auteur ; yasmina Hafi, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 126 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : Ameliorating Students' Writing through Extensive Reading Case Study: Third Year Students of English at the Department of Letters and English Language, University of Frères Mentouri, Constantine 1 Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Khaoula Benlmadani, Auteur ; Fatiha Sahli, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2021 Importance : 111 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie electronique PDF disponible au BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Writing through Extensive Reading. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) requires learners’ exposure to the four
language skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing. Reading and writing are considered
as complementary processes, However, the majority of students are unable to produce an
adequate written form because they overlook the importance of reading in reducing their
writing problems. The current work aims at showing that reading a large number of
understandable material can be a best pedagogical strategy to ameliorate the students’ writing
abilities at the Department of Letters and English Language, University of Frères Mentouri,
Constantine 1. In order to assess the hypotheses which claim that, if third year students read
extensively more frequently, they would be likely to create better essays and they would
eventually become good writers. We have opted for the descriptive method since it is the most
adequate one to deal with this topic. We have administered two main questionnaires to ten
teachers of written expression as well as fifty third year students at the Department of Letters
and English Language, University of Frères Mentouri, Constantine 1.The results obtained
demonstrate that reading extensively in English ameliorates students’ writing. Based on these
results, the research hypothesis was confirmed. Accordingly, students must be exposed to a
vast quantity of reading material in order to boost their writing abilities. In addition, Teachers
should always urge their students to be aware about the value of both reading and writing, and
how these two skills complement each otherDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=15878 Ameliorating Students' Writing through Extensive Reading Case Study: Third Year Students of English at the Department of Letters and English Language, University of Frères Mentouri, Constantine 1 [texte imprimé] / Khaoula Benlmadani, Auteur ; Fatiha Sahli, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2021 . - 111 f. ; 30 cm.
