Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Applied Linguistics ELLIPSIS CULTURAL SUBSTITUTION TRANSLATION Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This present research paper is an investigation of a problem which is the use of both
“Cultural substitution” and “Ellipsis” by students of Master 1 applied languages while
translating. This study has been conducted with a sample of 30 students out of 250
who are asked to answer a questionnaire made up of twelve questions and translate
ten sentences from English to Arabic. The questionnaire and the test serve to show
students’ awareness about these two strategies and how they are using them while
translating. The results demonstrate that students are not enough aware about these
two strategies. And they are using them in the wrong way. This means that students
must get in touch with these two concepts and understand them more through
different tools in order to translate in the right way. In addition, teachers should teach
these two notions to make the students aware of them.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4741 Ellipsis and cultural substitution in translation : The case of master 1 students of english at university des frères mentouri, constantine [texte imprimé] / Mohamed Maher Boussouf, Auteur ; Fatiha Sahli, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 59 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : The effect of translation brief ons tudents’ choice of translation Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Saoussen Madoui, Auteur ; Djamel Azil, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 59 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Applied Linguistics Translation Brief Choice of Translation Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present research examines, through a questionnaire and a translated text, the way "Master
1"students of Applied Languages choose the appropriate strategy to translate. The main
purpose of this study is to assess if students are provided with a clear translation brief, they
will be able to free themselves from the source text form, avoiding thus an overuse of literal
translation. Essentially this research centers around the way students translate the text, and
aims at investigating their awareness about the concept of translation brief. The results
obtained on the students who have not been helped with any brief show that their translation
is a bit acceptable, but, in some cases some students did not care to look for the equivalence
of some words and expressions. As for the students who were helped with a translation brief,
they were free in their translation of some sentences, that they have tried to produce a
valuable translation that suits the communicative prediction expressed in the brief, but in
translating sentences, they were quite related to the target textDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4240 The effect of translation brief ons tudents’ choice of translation [texte imprimé] / Saoussen Madoui, Auteur ; Djamel Azil, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 59 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : Students while translating scientific terms and texts from english into arabi Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Sarah Mekrebi, Auteur ; Asma Sanah, Auteur ; Riad Belouahem, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2016 Importance : 72 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie elelctronique PDF disponible en Buc Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : APPLIED LINGUISTICS PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED WHILE TRANSLATING Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present dissertation seeks to investigate “First Master year English Language students of University Frères Mentoury 1 Constantine” difficulties and problems while translating scientific works “texts, sentences and terms”. It is an attempt to draw attention to the role of adopting the adequate method that may help them to create a high quality translation using pure Arabic vocabulary. The data was gathered by means of a research tool in the form of a performance test, which consists of ten terms in English, one text in English and the second in Arabic and three sentences. From the aforementioned questions, it is hypothesized that if students deal with scientific texts following an appropriate method of translating and transmitting the source text meaning with suitable items, they will reach a convenient translation. The hypothesis is confirmed, the analysis of the data confirms that students’ mistakes are due to their misuse of the appropriate method while translating scientific texts and their insufficient linguistic background in the field of science. Some instructional indications are afforded as a starting point towards resolving this problem and helping the students cope with scientific terminology in the process of translation Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8932 Students while translating scientific terms and texts from english into arabi [texte imprimé] / Sarah Mekrebi, Auteur ; Asma Sanah, Auteur ; Riad Belouahem, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2016 . - 72 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : The position of culture teaching and learning in efl classrooms : The case of first year master students at the department of english, mentouri university-constantine Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Safa Khoualdi, Auteur ; Ryma Guechi, Auteur ; Salah Kaouache, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2011 Importance : 93 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Applied Linguistics Position Culture Teaching EFL Classrooms Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The importance of integrating culture in foreign language teaching has been highlighted in
countless studies. There is a growing recognition that foreign language learners need to be
instructed on the cultural background of the target language to help them achieve the cultural
understanding that would accompany their linguistic knowledge. Despite this, it seems that
the inclusion of culture is still overlooked in many language classrooms. The present study
seeks to examine the situation of culture teaching and learning in the department of English,
Mentouri University-Constantine. More specifically, it attempts to find out whether culture
is given much importance inside the language classrooms, and whether first year master
students are cognisant of the significance of culture in their learning of the English language.
Another aspect of this study is finding out how much students know about the British
culture. In order to answer these research questions, two questionnaires have been submitted
to both the teachers and the students of the department of English. The obtained results have
shown that culture is pushed in the background, notwithstanding the teachers’ awareness of
its importance in foreign language learning. Besides, the students’ questionnaire has
revealed that despite the students’ awareness of the importance of culture, their knowledge
about the target culture has proved to be quite limited. These results come to confirm the
assumption which underlies the present research that first year master students are not
knowledgeable enough about the target culture, mainly because of the little attention paid to
it inside the classroom.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6617 The position of culture teaching and learning in efl classrooms : The case of first year master students at the department of english, mentouri university-constantine [texte imprimé] / Safa Khoualdi, Auteur ; Ryma Guechi, Auteur ; Salah Kaouache, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2011 . - 93 f. ; 30 cm.
