Résumé : |
This dissertation, in two chapters, intends to investigate the problem of distinguishing between technical and semi-technical vocabulary as one of the main problems that Master One EST students face at the University of Constantine 01. Our main concern is to help students overcome their difficulties in distinguishing between technical and semi-technical vocabulary when they analyze a scientific discourse. For that, we hypothesized that if Master One students of English at the University of Constantine 01 can differentiate between technical and semi-technical vocabulary easily, they will be able to understand and analyze any scientific text. To check our hypothesis a questionnaire and a test were designed. The analysis of the findings gave us a clear picture about Master One students’ inability to distinguish between these two types of vocabulary and their main problem is semi-technical vocabulary. These results lead to say that our hypothesis is to some extent confirmed. |
