This study aims to investigate the relationship that exists between the use of vocabulary
learning strategies and the improvment of reading comprehension elements. In this
research we aim to shed some light on the importance of vocabulary learning strategies in
the process of reading. This study is designed to examine the degree of improvement
learners can achieve in understanding a text, when they use vocabulary learning
strategies.It is hypothesized that if students make use of vocabulary learning strategies,
their reading comprehension will be improved. To achieve such an aim, we relied on two
questionnaires as a means of research. The first one was administered to a sample of ten
(10) teachers, and the second one was administered to sample of forty (40) first year
L.M.D students. The analysis of the findings reveal that both the teachers and the students
admit the beneficial use of vocabulary learning strategies for improving reading
comprehension. |
