Résumé : |
A major target for students in language learning is to speak and communicate properly. Audio-short stories can be a key to reach that goal. The present study aims at exploring the effects of listening to audio-short stories on improving the learners’ speaking skill. For this purpose, we hypothesized that if teachers use audio-short stories as a listening activity, they would enhance the learners’ speaking skill. In order to examine the research hypothesis, two questionnaires were administered to a sample of ten teachers of Oral expression course and fifty students of second year at the department of English, university of Mentouri Brothers- Constantine, in order to obtain the necessary information about their attitudes and opinions towards the use of audio-short stories in language learning and, particularly, in enhancing the speaking skill. The results showed that the majority of teachers and students believe that listening to audio-short stories is one of the most important activities that enable EFL learners to develop their speaking , which confirmed our research hypothesis. The use of audio-short stories could, hence, be applied as a successful teaching practice to develop speaking outcomes. |
