The developments recent of the civil engineering create multiple problems of interaction between structure and grounds, the comprehension of the behavior of the grounds and works and their interactions thus plays a role growing and significant in the studies geotechnics.
That supposes a reliable and relevant estimate strength and deformation properties of the grounds, for obtaining the suitable values of the parameters characterizing the rupture, of many research as well theoretical as experimental are offered.
The experimental way was largely explored during last decades and it was the subject of our study.
On the experimental level, the testing methods most frequently used for the validation of the models of behavior comprise primarily oedometric tests compression and shear tests to the traditional triaxial apparatus.
These tests constitute the basic tools for the knowledge of the behavior of clays and make it possible to follow ways of constraints or deformations simulating the real behavior of the works in place. In parallel, of the testing methods in situ (penetrometers, pressiometers, etc.) were developed in order to characterize the best possible behavior of clays in place. Although these tests have the advantage of being inexpensive and rapids to be carried out, of or their relative success, the results obtained difficult with is interpreted in term of laws of behavior of the grounds, because the ways of total or effective constraints follow-ups in these tests are badly known, the boundary conditions space are impossible to define, the conditions of drainage or are not known generally little, etc. These difficulties pose serious problems with the good in situ test schedule –and their exploitation, which allowed privileged people the laboratory, tests (oedometers, triaxial).
The objective of this study is the experimental characterization of the model of behavior of natural clays several sites of the area of Constantine, the test routine A made it possible to determine the form of the surface of load, which is controlled by the constraint of preconsolidation, it has an appreciably elliptic form inclined on the line µ O or Ko On the level of the laboratory tests we had interesting results concerning the strength parameters it and φ ', the param beings of deformations and the coefficient of earth pressure at rest Ko.
These results are comparable with those obtained on other natural clays which have the same behavior and the same shape of the curve of absolute limit (Jausseaume, Azizi, 1991), the clay of Guiche (valley of Adour) (khemissa, J-P.Magnan, H.Josseaume), the clay of Saint-Alban (Leroueil and Al, 1979). |
