Indeed, the development of these optical devices has a growing and particular interest, particularly for targeting and identifying biological species. For this purpose, the photonic crystal-based components (CPs) have been widely exploited in the field of bio-detection.
Silicon is an ideal candidate designated as a support material for the realization of these devices. In this context, new coupling techniques between waveguide and optical cavity based on planar photonic crystals, made on a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrate, have been developed. To do this, we are modeling these bio detectors, optimizing their key parameters such as the quality factor and sensitivity to the optical index of the external environment, using commercial software Fullwave and Crystalwave that exploit the finite difference method in the two-dimensional time domain (FDTD-2D). We first studied the parallel coupling between a resonant cavity and a waveguide (W1) for application to the detection of DNA biomolecules. The originality of this study is to consider several sensors on a single platform, and to demonstrate that each sensor could detect a target independently and without interaction with others, without losses, and this, by acting on the parameters influencing the
essential characteristics, we note a high sensitivity and a low limit of detection. As for the second geometry studied, it consists of another coupling path, the latter comprises two sections of guides W1 between which has been arranged a ring cavity. We have also optimized the different structural parameters for this configuration, in order to improve the sensitivity and the quality factor in order to obtain another type of high-performance sensor, namely the temperature sensor. For this, we consider the evolution of the sensitivity as a function of the change in the temperature of the water, convincing results were noted.

photonic crystal microcavity refractive index sensors quality factor sensitivity البلورات الضوئية فجوة استشعار معامل الانكسار الحساسيةIndex. décimale : 621 Electronique Résumé :
In this thesis we consider the study and the design of new structures of refractive index sensors based on two-dimensional photonic crystals, and in particular their exploitation in detection domain. The proposed structures are focalized particularly for detecting the refractive index variation. They consist of a guide / cavity coupling according to two configurations. The first configuration consists of a linear coupling (filter). The second configuration is based on a lateral coupling which consists of a juxtaposed linear cavity parallel to the waveguide. Another original structure proposed consists of an air-slot width-modulated line-defect microcavity.
Simulations are performed using the BandSOLVE and FullWAVE simulation software developed by RSoft, based on the Plane Wave Method (PWE) and the Finite Difference Time Domain method (FDTD), respectively. Firstly, we are optimized the quality factor and the transmission, modifying the physical and geometric key parameters of the structure such as: size, position and shape of holes. We studied the sensitivity by optimizing the detection performance (sensitivity and detection limit). To do this, we introduced an air slot in the cavity center. This configuration makes it possible to considerably increase the light-matter interaction and induces a strong confinement of the light within the cavity. Obtained results concerning the sensitivity are convincing: S = 400
nm / RIU: this structure can be used as an index variation sensor.

Exclusion criterias were considered. Weight and height were measured to calculate BMI. Overweight is defined by a BMI 25 and obesity by a BMI 30. The three alternative forced choice (3-AFC) method has been adapted to determine detection thresholds. Individuals were classified DV K\SRVHQVLWLYH mM and hypersensitive < 3 mM. Lipid perception intensity was measured by a gLMS intensity scale. Nutritional intakes were assessed by a 24 hour foodconsumption diaries repeated 3 times. The level of preference towards fatty foods was assessed by a preference questionnaire. Tongue photography was taken to count fungiform papillae. Two polymorphisms of the CD36 gene were studied (rs1761667 and rs1527483) by real-time PCR. The association of the two polymorphisms with obesity has been investigated in 50 women. Statistical analysis is performed with SPSS software. Our results confirm the association between lipid detection thresholds and weight status of women. The anthropometric parameters (BMI, waist circumference, waist circumference / hip circumference ratio and waist circumference / height ratio) are positively associated with the fat detection threshold. Obese participants are the least sensitive to fat taste. Better sensitivity to oleic acid is associated with better intensity of perception and identification of fat in food. Obese subjects have the lowest lipid perception intensity. Impaired lipid detection is possibly related to overweight in adults. Lipids hyposensitivity has been linked to higher intakes of overall energy and fat intake. It is also linked to higher preference for pure fat and salty-fat foods. Reduced taste density is associated with low taste sensitivity and overweight. Obese
people consume more energy and fat and have a greater preference for fat. The study of polymorphism of the two variants-CD36 gene (rs1761667 and rs1527483) confirms its involvement in obesity in our population.
