The target is to investigate new pedagogical methods that teachers may use to help students overcome the difficulties they encounter while translating scientific texts. The choice of students from the English Department Mentouri University lies behind the fact that they have studied translation for two years and are good at translating from English into Arabic. It was hypothesized that students would translate better only when they are supported by new teaching methods about translating scientific/biological texts. The data was gathered by means of a research tool in the form of a questionnaire for teachers and a written translation test. The results show that most of students failed to translate the biological terms because they had particularly no theoretical courses about it during their studies. In addition, through the teacher’s questionnaire we concluded that students had a poor scientific background.
