Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This current study aims to investigate both teachers’ and students’ perception towards the use of Cooperative Learning as a teaching method in improving Master 2 students’ level of selfesteem at the department of Letters and the English Language, Frères Mentouri University, Constantine 1. To reach this aim, an exploratory research design was adopted. Two questionnaires were administered online as a quantitative data collection tool; the first one was submitted to eight (8) teachers of the department, and the second questionnaire was given to forty (40) Master two students in the same department. The aim behind using the questionnaire is to know the teachers’ and students’ attitudes and points of view towards the use of Cooperative Learning and its effects on improving the students’ level of self-esteem. The results obtained have shown that CL has positive effects on improving the students’ levels of self-esteem. Moreover, the results show that teachers and students’ have positive attitudes toward the effectiveness of CL as a teaching method in improving the students’ selfesteem. Our population consists of third year students and teachers of oral expression at the department of Letters and English Language Frére Mentouri University. We carried out this study under the hypothesis which claims that if students are intrinsically motivated their oral performance is likely to be improved. In order to test the validity of this hypothesis we administered two questionnaires that are devoted to know teachers and students' opinions about the influence of intrinsic motivation on students’ oral performance inside the classroom. The results obtained have shown that both teachers and students are aware of the significant role that intrinsic motivation plays in students’ oral performance. Furthermore the two respondents emphasized the need to establish a motivational atmosphere inside the classroom in order for students to perform appropriately. We attempt to check the validity of this hypothesis through the administration of two questionnaires: one for 10 teachers of Written Expression, and the second questionnaire is submitted to 30 first year students selected randomly from a total population of 493 students. The results obtained from this study show that teachers’ correction plays a crucial role in developing students writing performance. Therefore, good writing ability depends to a larger extent on teachers’ correction for spelling errors.
