Résumé : |
Africa has come out of the colonial era with a new literature that must address the problems that colonialism left behind. There are many issues that arose out of post-colonialism, issues that African authors and writers had to deal with. One of these problems is political corruption and moral decadence.
This work examines how the issues of political corruption and moral decadence are portrayed in African literature, particularly, in Chinua Achebe's novel "No Longer At Ease" and Ayi Kwei Armah's "The Beautyful Ones Are Not yet born".
In other words, the study is an attempt to show how both authors, Chinua Achebe and Ayi Kwei Armah, developed the theme of corruption through the use of symbolism in their novels, "No Longer At Ease" and "The Beautyful Ones are not Yet born". |
