Résumé :	The present research work examines, through a questionnaire and a test, the problems that third-year learners of English at Mentoury University-Constantine face when translating English phrasal verbs. It attempts to find out the reasons behind the third-year learners‟ failure in translating English phrasal verbs into Arabic. The results obtained show that the learners‟ level of translating English phrasal verbs is low. Through the questionnaire and the translated phrasal verbs, it is clearly demonstrated that the majority do not like translating phrasal verbs, but they manage usually to guess their meaning from the context. Besides, the majority agree that competence and familiarity with phrasal verbs are important for a good translation.
