Résumé : |
This study aims to investigate difficulties in spelling that Applied Linguistics Master one students of English at University of Frères Mentouri, Constantine 1 face when producing academic pieces of writing. It is hypothesized that the overuse of social networks leads students of English to commit spelling mistakes. To confirm or disconfirm the validity of this hypothesis, two questionnaires are distributed to a sample of 25 Master one students of English at University of Frères Mentouri, Constantine 1 and 10 of their teachers. In addition to that, a written test for the same sample students is handed. After the data analysis, it is confirmed that students are affected by the overuse of social networks. Results of this study also reveal that despite the continuous feedback from teachers, students keep misspelling words as a result of their excessive use of social networks. |
