Résumé :	The purpose of this study is to shed light on the awareness of the cultural importance of eye contact when communicating with foreign people by first and second year Master students in Applied Language, Department of English Arts and Language, University 1 of Constantine. Research data were gathered through a questionnaire to check the hypothesis which is: if these students are aware of eye contact diversity across cultures and its rules then, on the one hand, they will have effective and successful conversations with people from other cultures and, on the other hand, they will improve their knowledge and avoid embarrassing situations. The obtained results show that most students are unaware of the importance of eye contact. They also lack background knowledge about body language and its importance in communication
