Résumé :	Writing is a very difficult activity that requires special care and awareness when learning. It requires the learning of some conventions such as grammar, punctuation, spelling, and handwriting. The latter is an important aspect in the writing skill, it can affect the written piece positively as it can affect it negatively. This dissertation aims to determine the basic handwriting problems students face when writing and the influence of such problems on their writing skill. For this purpose, a questionnaire is administered to forty Third Year LMD English students at University of Constantine 1 to know what they know, feel, and think about handwriting. A test is also conducted for the same sample in order to know whether they are really aware of the different aspects of handwriting and its impact on their writing skill. The obtained results could confirm the hypothesis of this research project which is: if students enhanced their handwriting, they would produce better writing
