Résumé : |
Fluency is a difficult aspect to achieve in teaching speaking. Hence, teachers should find appropriate ways through which they help their students develop their oral fluency. In this research, role playing, discussion and storytelling are presented as some of the effective teaching strategies teachers use in teaching 3rd year LMD students to enhance their oral fluency. This research is aimed at shedding some light on how these strategies help the students develop their oral fluency. In order to check the validity of our hypothesis which is “If teachers use role play, discussion and storytelling strategies in teaching oral English, the students’ oral fluency will improve”. We designed two questionnaires, one for thirty 3rd year LMD students of English, Constantine 1University to see how role playing, discussion and storytelling help them speak fluently. The second questionnaire is for some oral expression teachers in order to discover the advantages of these strategies on the students oral English. The obtained results of the two questionnaires show that role playing, discussion and storytelling have many advantages in helping students be motivated to speak and practise their oral language, hence, they help them improve their English proficiency. |
