Résumé :	Economic translation is one of the most current translations, it is indeed a difficult task which requires considerable efforts and practice, that is why we hypothesize that students must be familiar and have enough background knowledge in the economic language in order to avoid a great number of difficulties that they face during translating this sensitive field. We investigate this explicit hypothesis by means of a questionnaire and a test which were administered to Students of Applied Language Studies. Therefore, the analysis of the finding data proves that students’ mistranslations are due to the lack of economic background knowledge and the lack of practice in translating economic terms. In the light of these results, some pedagogical recommendations were providing in order to solve these problems and find suitable solutions to reach an appropriate translation
