Economic translation is one of the most current translations, it is indeed a difficult task which
requires considerable efforts and practice, that is why we hypothesize that students must be
familiar and have enough background knowledge in the economic language in order to avoid
a great number of difficulties that they face during translating this sensitive field. We
investigate this explicit hypothesis by means of a questionnaire and a test which were
administered to Students of Applied Language Studies. Therefore, the analysis of the finding
data proves that students’ mistranslations are due to the lack of economic background
knowledge and the lack of practice in translating economic terms. In the light of these results,
some pedagogical recommendations were providing in order to solve these problems and find
suitable solutions to reach an appropriate translation |

Economic translation is one of the most current translations, it is indeed a difficult task which
requires considerable efforts and practice, that is why we hypothesize that students must be

This research aims at investigating the difficulties that master one students of English encounter when they attempt to translate scientific terminology, to be more precise computer science related terms. As well as examining the methods that students adhere to during translation. The data for this research was gathered by two means; a questionnaire, and a test. The analysis of both the questionnaire and the test confirmed that even when students are well knowledgeable in the field of computer science, their translation into Arabic still lacked the appropriateness in choosing the equivalents, because, they had no contact with these terms in Arabic beforehand. Hence, some recommendations were proposed as possible solutions in order to enhance students‟ translation in the field of computer science |

The reason for this study is to have a few experiences about the awareness of
collocations, and the diverse issues which the student may confront while translating
diverse sorts of collocations. We will attempt to test and assess their mindfullness by
examining their translation of English collocations into Arabic, and the other way around.
The study is done through a test devided into two sections. The first part is a test of
knowledge in which the students answer two separate questions depending on their
background knowledge about collocations. The second part is the translation of
collocations from English into Arabic and vice versa. The results of this research reveal
two main causes of third year students‟ errors in translating collocations. In the first place
students receive strict translation as the translation technique. Second, third year students
don't give enough significance to collocations which belong to another culture and
language. The main conclusion is that collocations are both a semantic and a social issue
and are not simply an issue of substituting words by their counterparts in the other
language. |

The present research is carried out to shed light on one of the lexical problems affecting the
performance of third year students of English, at the Department of English, University of
Constantine, when attempting to translate from English into Arabic. This problem lies in the
ambiguous nature of English words, particularly synonymous words. In order to investigate this
problem, it has been hypothesised that if third year students of English consider the context, they
will succeed in translating synonymous words. To check this hypothesis and to achieve the aim
of this research, a test and a questionnaire have been administered to a sample of third year
students of English at Mentouri University - Constantine. One of the points of focus of this

This work is an attempt to spot light on the issue of translating the “Present Perfect Simple” from English into Arabic. It aims to show the ways the 3rd year students of English at Mentouri University, Constantine use to translate the present perfect simple. For most of the students, the present perfect simple is translated into Arabic through the use of the particles ( نمذ أ لذ ) + (ان اًضٙ ). We agree that this rule is correct but some scholars said that the present perfect simple should be translated into Arabic according to the context because of the lack of equivalence between English and Arabic at the level of tenses. Thus, this paper aims also to find out which method is the best and to suggest the appropriate way of translating the present perfect into Arabic |
