Résumé : |
The present research is intended to investigate the extent to which students’ use of test taking
strategies before, during and after tests/exams affect their test performance. Particular
attention is given to this subject matter because taking tests is an integral part of the learning
process, and for many students is not only the most important but also the hardest part. As a
result, we hypothesize that, when students utilize test-taking strategies effectively, they will
probably be able to get good results. We try to check the validity of this hypothesis through
the administration of one questionnaire to a sample of fifty third year LMD students from the
English department at Mentouri Brothers University. The findings of the study show that
there is a significant relationship between using strategies and students’ success, especially
when they are used in the right way. Also, students believe that test taking strategies can help
them a lot in lessening test anxiety and becoming more confident. Hence, learners’
achievements and getting high scores depend to a good extent on the effective use of test
taking strategies |
