Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This study reviews the construction of Jane Austen‘s feminism, in her romantic comedy Pride & Prejudice, through the illustration of her views concerning marriage and women‘s identity. The study challenges scepticism about Austen‘s feminism and offers arguments to support the author‘s feminist orientations. Austen‘s views on matrimony and motives behind it, in the novel, are examined through a feminist psychoanalysis approach. Additionally, the study offers an investigation of the twenty-first psychological syndrome: the Cinderella Complex, within the nineteenth century novel Pride & Prejudice. This work aims to elaborate on the grounds of Austen‘s feminism, through a deep analysis of her opinions about feminist identity construction and the institution of marriage. In sum, this study brings to light Austen‘s devotion to women‘s issues, and opens new doors for further feminist, psychoanalysis of Pride & Prejudice. Titre : Homeownership, the american dream and the housing crisis Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Houssam Aliouche, Auteur ; Ferdous Grama, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 51 f. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The aim of this study is to examine the role of homeownership in the life of American
citizens. The main argument of this study is that homeownership is considered by most
Americans as an integral part of the American Dream. It has many socioeconomic benefits.
The American government did many efforts to expand homeownership through different
interventions. However, the result was a housing market crash where millions of Americans
lost their houses. After a decade, many Americans still believe in the American Dream of
homeownership and they are working hard to reach it. This study shows that despite the
different downturns in the housing market economics, homeownership is still considered as
part of the American dream that must be achieved for better life.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4501 Homeownership, the american dream and the housing crisis [texte imprimé] / Houssam Aliouche, Auteur ; Ferdous Grama, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 51 f. ; 30 cm.

In analyzing the American Dream as a key concept, the study calls to identify the reasons behind people’s immigration to America and to discuss the philosophical notion of the American Dream:a recurring theme in American society. Additionally, the study seeks to explain the real meaning of the American Dream through its different concepts in order to reveal the common values that shaped the United States of America, and if it is possible to redefine the term according to both the American nation and the world, taking into consideration the descriptive, historical and philosophical approaches to deal with the topic Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6904 Redefining the american dream [texte imprimé] / Mohamed Nazih Mani, Auteur ; Ferdous Grama, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 72 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : The impact of the great depression on women in the U.S.A Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Nawel Rihane, Auteur ; Ferdous Grama, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 54 f. and American Studies Great Depression Women USA Advantages DisadvantagesIndex. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of the Great Depression on women in
the USA. This economic recession affected them severely in their daily lives. This research
aims to present women as a gender minority in the American society, and to unveil their role
as well as their struggle to politically participate in the government at a time of crisis. The
Great Depression had affected the lives of women on both sides:negatively and positively.
Most importantly however, this Depression granted women opportunities to impose their
presence and abilities in the twentieth century. This study explores the struggle of Eleanor
Roosevelt, Mary McLeod Bethune, and Francis Perkins; three leading women in the history
of USA. They fought hard to balance personal and political life and to carry the
responsibilities of women and men at once. The study allows then the reader to have a deep
understanding of the impact of the 1929 Great Depression on women and to weigh its pros
and cons.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4348 The impact of the great depression on women in the U.S.A [texte imprimé] / Nawel Rihane, Auteur ; Ferdous Grama, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 54 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : The kafkaesque and the orwellian as a modernist literary response to the horrors of the two world wars : A comparative study of Franz Kafka’s the trial and George Orwell’s 1984 Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Rayane Anser, Auteur ; Ferdous Grama, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 65 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : British and American Studies Kafkaesque Orwellian Modernist literature WWI WWII. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This paper examines and compares Franz Kafka’s The Trial (1925) and George
Orwell’s 1984 (1949) in order to show how the two World Wars have resulted in certain
parallels between the writings of the two authors. This, in part, comes to point out the impact
that the two World Wars had on literature, more particularly on the modernist movement in
the twentieth century. In The Trial, Franz Kafka articulates his personal anxieties as much as
he expresses other universal uncertainties that people who lived through wars often times
share. In 1984, Orwell writes about his fear of a world that survived a great war but has come
under the grips of a totalitarian rule. The impact of the First World War on Franz Kafka and
that of the Second World War on George Orwell is reflected and described in their two novels
by means of plots, characters and a set of themes. Kafkaesque and Orwellian writings,
ultimately, evoke a range of similar modernist themes that characterise post-war writing and
display the literary response to the horrors of the two World Wars.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4500 The kafkaesque and the orwellian as a modernist literary response to the horrors of the two world wars : A comparative study of Franz Kafka’s the trial and George Orwell’s 1984 [texte imprimé] / Rayane Anser, Auteur ; Ferdous Grama, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 65 f. ; 30 cm.
